Miro Magloire’s New Chamber Ballet

Choreographer Miro Magloire presents his New Chamber Ballet in repertory works and the World Premiere of a work to music by young composer Elizabeth Gartman. Ms. Gartman, born in 1996, is the winner of the first Composition Prize for Dance, a collaboration between Magloire and the Manhattan School of Music. The winner receives a commission by NCB to compose music for a new work by Magloire, to be presented by his company and also in a performance at the Manhattan School of Music. Other works on the program are set to music by Friedrich Cerha, Tristan Murail, and Johannes Brahms, all played live by pianist Melody Fader and violinist Doori Na. Performances Nov. 12 & 13 at 7:30 PM.
