National Dance Institute’s (NDI) 2019 Event of the Year: Voices Of Change
June 15, 2019 @ 5:00 PM - June 17, 2019 @ 8:00 PM
$20From June 15-17, National Dance Institute (NDI), the non-profit arts education organization founded in 1976 by legendary New York City Ballet principal dancer Jacques d’Amboise, will host its 2019 Event of the Year: Voices of Change at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. The 2019 Event of the Year, directed by Jennifer Aks-Neuman, will bring together over 200 talented dancers from NYC public schools in a vibrant performance inspired by the power of rivers. Featuring original choreography and live music, NDI’s Event of the Year will celebrate the individuals and movements that have inspired and effected positive change, such as Susan B. Anthony, Martin Luther King Jr., Malala Yousafzai, and more. Through an in depth investigation of activism, NDI hopes to inspire their children to be the “voices of change” that shape their own communities and futures. As the school year comes to an end, it’s evident that the importance of youth activism and young people driving change in our country is at an all-time high.
