The Manhattan Adult ADD Support Group is pleased to present the following lecture on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 8:00 PM (NYC Time). Neuromodulation for Cognitive Restoration w/ Darrin Jason Lee, MD, PhD Featured in our next talk: the much-mentioned “executive functions.” Those would be planning, decision-making, and goal-directed behavior. As well as the cognitive building blocks — error avoidance, time perception, working memory, verbal fluency — that make these possible. The seat of this activity? The leading candidate is the front part of the brain. Which brings us to ADHD. In some cases, ADHD is marked by a shortage of executive functioning and an underperformance of the frontal cortex. Is there a technology that can appropriately “tune” this critical region so as to bring back some of these abilities? Or grant them to people who have never had a full measure to begin with? To find out more, log on September 30. Joining us then will be Dr. Darrin Jason Lee. About Dr. Lee: Currently, Dr. Lee is an assistant professor of neurosurgery at the University of Southern California. There, he’s part of the multi-disciplinary USC Center for Neurorestoration, where he’s known for his interest in developing treatments for cognitive and psychiatric disorders.
