New York Scandia Symphony

The New York Scandia Symphony, under the baton of Dorrit Matson, continues its mission of presenting both well known and rarely heard music by significant Northern European classical composers. Appearing at Alice Tully Hall/Lincoln Center, the 50-member orchestra will perform a program of Helios Overture and An Imaginary Journey to the Faroe Islands by Carl Nielsen; Concerto for two Horns and Orchestra by Friedrich Kahlau; At the Castle Gate from Pelleas et Melisande and Karelia Suite by Jean Sibelius; and Swedish Rhapsody No. 1 – Midsommervaka by Hugo Alfven.
