July 1, 2020 @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Free

In a session titled The Power of Perseverance and Passion, business leader and philanthropist Steve Pemberton, author of the best-selling memoir, A Chance in the World, will speak about having defied seemingly insurmountable odds to become a trail-blazing corporate executive, enlightened diversity leader, visionary youth advocate and acclaimed speaker.

Monique Moore Pryor, Esq., St. Francis College Chief of Staff, will lead the discussion.

The Zoom link will be sent an hour before the event.

Currently the Chief Human Resources Officer at Workhuman, Pemberton previously served as Global Chief Diversity Officer at Walgreens Boots Alliance and as Chief Diversity Officer for Monster.com. He was a 2019 candidate for the United States Senate (Massachusetts).

A relentless champion for those who have often been left in the shadows. Pemberton established A Chance in the World Foundation and serves on several non-profit boards. His work for equality, access and opportunity earned him the Trumpet Award and the prestigious Horizon Award by the United States Congress.

The event is the fifth in Terrier Talks, a new discussion series organized by the St. Francis College President’s Office and Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, that exposes St. Francis College students to seasoned professionals who share stories of their journeys and the importance of mentorship to their professional success.
