After a three-year hiatus, the oldest alumni polo match in America is back! Sponsored by the United State Polo Association, we’re excited to celebrate over three decades of polo tradition between Yale and University of Virginia alumni. Attendees from all over the Tri-State area attend every year to enjoy a day of competitive polo, tailgating, and dancing. So, come out and cheer on the teams!

Alumni from ALL schools are welcome and invited to attend. Prizes will be awarded for the Best Hat, Best Dressed, and Best Tailgate.

EVENT SCHEDULE:
10:00AM – Gates Open / Tailgating Begins
11:00AM – VIP Tent Opens
12:00PM – UVa vs Yale Alumni Polo Match
2:30PM – Awards Ceremony
3PM – DJ & dancing
6:00PM – Last bus back to the LIRR train station leaves

The easiest way to get to the Harriman Cup is to take the LIRR train from Grand Central to Bethpage. There is a direct train on the Ronkonkoma line every 0:59. It’s a 51 minute ride, and there will be free shuttle buses that will take you from the train station to the polo match.

If you plan to drive to Bethpage, the trip is about 1 hour from Manhattan and 1 hour from the Hamptons. (Just know that Bethpage Park charges a $8 fee to every vehicle that enters the park for golf, events, etc, and this is a separate charge from the Harriman Cup.)

The funds garnered from this year’s Harriman Cup benefit the undergrad polo programs at both Yale and the University of Virginia.
