The Morris-Jumel Mansion is pleased to announce their popular annual event, The George Washington Dinner will take place on Sunday, July 14th at 6PM / 5PM for VIP guests. The event is a celebration of the first president’s celebratory dinner he gave for his nascent cabinet on July 10th, 1790. Early in the war, Washington had commandeered the mansion as a temporary headquarters and scored his first victory over the British here. His guests for the dinner were John and Abigail Adams, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson and Martha Washington. The evening includes cocktail hour, book signing with the keynote speaker, 18th-century music, and a five course meal drawing inspiration from historic menus. The dinner’s proceeds will benefit the museum’s cultural and community programming.Event Calendar
