The New Jewish Home’s 17th Annual Palliative Care Conference

On Tuesday, November 19, 2019, The New Jewish Home will bring together a distinguished array of experts for an informative and insightful exploration of medical and ethical issues for palliative caregivers. The New Jewish Home is a comprehensive, mission-driven health care system serving older adults since 1848.
The 17th Annual Palliative Care Conference will cover a broad range of topics, focusing on obstacles to providing quality palliative care, including: managing burnout, moral distress, geographic isolation and opioid use disorder.
Featured speakers include:
Steven P. Field, M.D., Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Gastroenterology and Medical Ethics Divisions, New York University School of Medicine.
Betty Lim, M.D., Geriatrics and Palliative Care Physician.
Jessica S. Merlin, M.D., Ph.D., MBA, Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh; independent clinician-investigator fellowship-trained and board certified in infectious diseases, palliative care and addiction medicine.
Lisa Rosenzweig, Ph.D., Clinical psychologist in private practice and bereavement specialist in hospice and palliative care at MJHS Health System.
The individual sessions will be followed by a presentation of case studies and a panel discussion.
