Young Concert Artists Honors Peter Marino

On Thursday, May 16, a Gala Evening to benefit Young Concert Artists, an organization which has been launching the careers of musicians from all over the world since 1961, will take place at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. The Evening features Cocktails at 5:45pm, a Concert with three soloists and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s at 7:00pm, and a Patrons’ Circle Dinner and live Auction at 8:45pm.

Internationally renowned architect and former Chairman of the Young Concert Artists Board of Directors Peter Marino is the Guest of Honor. The Benefit Chairman is Katharine J. Rayner.

Supporters and distinguished guests of the evening include: Carol & Sander Abend; Marsha & Michael Ambler; Noreen and Ken Buckfire; Esther B. Ferguson; Larry Gagosian; Robyn and Alexander V. J. Gaudieri; Alexis Gregory; Linda & Paul Gridley; Sahra T. Lese; Memrie Lewis; Anne-Marie McDermott & Michael L. Lubin; Ellen Marcus; Nancy Cain Marcus; Claudia and Douglas Morse; Beatrice & Chien Chung Pei; Kathleen Ritch; Susan & Elihu Rose; Julia Salvi; and Annaliese Soros.

The Evening’s concert features three extraordinary Young Concert Artists soloists: 23-year-old flutist Anthony Trionfo, 18-year old violinist SooBeen Lee and 17-old-pianist Nathan Lee, making their New York concerto debuts with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s conducted by Teddy Abrams.

Now in its 58th season, Young Concert Artists has discovered and launches the careers of exceptional young musicians who become renowned artists of international stature. Among them are pianists Emanuel Ax, Jeremy Denk and Jean-Yves Thibaudet, violinists Pinchas Zukerman, Ray Chen and Anne Akiko Meyers, and soprano Julia Bullock.
