On Thursday, October 25, Pratt Institute held its Legends 2018 gala at Weylin, the site of the iconic Williamsburg Savings Bank in Brooklyn, celebrating icons of art and design whose works have helped shape the cultural landscape. The event honored furniture company Steelcase and artist and Pratt alumnus William T. Williams.
The annual benefit provides vital funds for merit and need-based scholarships that help the approximately 80 percent of Pratt students who receive financial aid to pursue their educational and creative ambitions. The evening also included a special performance by singer-songwriter and actress Margot Bingham (She’s Gotta Have It, The Family, and Boardwalk Empire.)
On Thursday, November 1, Pratt Institute hosted a private dinner in celebration of the inauguration of its 12th president Frances Bronet on its historic campus in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Bronet, who became Pratt’s president on January 2, 2018, was officially inaugurated on Friday, November 2 in a ceremony also on campus. The dinner was attended by Bronet’s family and friends, Pratt trustees, members of the Pratt family, as well as faculty, staff, and students.
