Arts, philanthropic, and business leaders of Charlotte turned out for the Charlotte Symphony’s Annual Gala to be dazzled by opera star and World Health Organization Goodwill Ambassador for Arts and Health, Renée Fleming.
The sold-out gala proved Charlotteans are not restricted to going out on the weekends. The program spanned from the Richard StraussFour Last Songs to the audience singing Leonard Cohen’sHallelujah and Ms. Fleming appeared in three elegant gowns.
Those attending the gala included Jane and Hugh McColl, Elizabeth and Jay Monge, Laura and Perry Poole, Dr. Milton Berkman, Shira Lissek, Shayne Doty, and Patty and Thrus Morton.
The following day, Mrs. Fleming convened a panel of neurologists and music therapy practitioners on Music and the Mind, sponsored by Atrium, now Advocate Health.
