Earlier this month, New 42 and New Victory Theater celebrated the New Victory Family Benefit. This year’s event, titled “Circus in the City,” featured a thrilling performance of 360 ALLSTARS, followed by a procession led by Omnium Circus across 42nd St. to Dave & Buster’s for a private afterparty filled with festivities, gaming and creative activities. It was an unforgettable day for the 450 kids and grown-ups who attended.
New 42 President and CEO Russell Granet, New 42 Board of Directors Vice Chair Tiffany Gardner, and New Victory Family Benefit Chairs Tai Mendoza and Ji Park Kwak delivered opening remarks before the show.
Additional New Victory Family Benefit leadership included Vice Chairs Christina Zagarino and Tyler Horan, and Greg and Kim Lippmann; and Committee Members Sarah Arison, Rebecca and Jared Cohen, Vinnie Kumar, Aman Malik and Sonali Mathur, Whitney Rouse and Jeff Teach, Adolophine Sheeley, and Lucinda Zilkha.
The New Victory Family Benefit: “Circus in the City” supports New 42, the nonprofit that brings incredible theater for kids and families from around the world to the New Victory Theater. New 42 also facilitates arts education and engagement partnerships that aim to make extraordinary performing arts a part of everyone’s life from the earliest years onward.
The New Victory Family Benefit featured an Honorary Ringleader Committee including Jessie Austrian and Noah Brody, Laura Benanti and Patrick Brown, Cicily Daniels, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Alexis Johnson, Bill Irwin and Martha Roth, Celia Keenan-Bolger and John Ellison Conlee, and John Lithgow.
Further uptown at Doubles, they held their annual Peter Cottontail Easter Egg Hunt where over 150 children, moms, and dads enjoyed the MC, DJ, dancers, face painters, balloon artists and CJ the Easter Bunny. After the children had their fair share (some more than) of baby hot dogs, grilled cheese squares and chocolate brownies, the baskets were distributed.
Wendy Carduner invited the 5- to 8-year-olds and then the 2- to 4-year-olds to collect the 3000 ‘hidden in plain sight’ Easter Eggs filled with candy. Those enjoying the festivities included Brooke Kennan, Megan Klopp, Catherine Boulud, Sarah McLaughlin, Ashley Koch, Barkley Hickox, Tara and Brad Sullivan, Sarah Mclaughlin, Laura Thomas, Elizabeth Darst and many, many more.
