There’s no question hats take top billing at the annual Conservancy Luncheon, but handbags also weigh in as fashion accessories. Our snapshots caught basic (sometimes embellished) beige and black Birkins, classic Chanel clutches, bedecked baskets, designer classics, treasured vintage hand-me-downs, blossom bags. There were a few substantial canvas sail bags and someone brought a silver hat box. The variety included an adorable lamb purse and Martha Stewart’s all-in-one (natch) cellphone and billfold case.
