This week’s “Society Dream” comes from Christophe Lambert. I am not familiar with his work, but for any film buffs out there, he is quite famous — even distinguished —  in the world of acting as well as producing and writing. Lambert, who is French-American, was actually born in Great Neck, New York.

He started his career playing supporting parts in several French films, before becoming famous for portraying Tarzan in two films. Other notable acting roles include Connor MacLeod in the adventure-fantasy film Highlander (1986), which became a cult classic. — DPC

SOCIETY DREAMS: Christophe Lambert
by Lauren Lawrence

Lauren LawrenceThe Dream: My favorite dream is one that recurs from time to time. I am underwater, and everything is very clear and crisp. Very blue and very green like Technicolor should be. I am moving very fast through this antique city. Almost like I am swimming at the speed of a torpedo. There are fish. I do not know if I am a fish or if it is me. It is a great feeling.

The Interpretation: Dashing Highlander Christophe Lambert travels within the lowlands beneath the sea, empowered and immortal as ever, loving the sensation of boundlessness and freedom.

Christophe, today.

Submerged underwater, the dreamer delves within his psyche and reveals his thirst for self-knowledge. This symbolizes an introspective nature and the wish for clarity. Where there is no gravity, there is no resistance to all that has been repressed. Being immersed in water reveals the depth of the dreamer who seeks what is underneath the surface superficialities of living.

There is nostalgia for all that has been left behind. The ancient city, the quiet city of solitude within himself, is an excavation of his past. In another view, underwater dreams are often birth fantasies wherein the dreamer has remembered some pleasurable intrauterine experience or atmosphere.

These dreams reflect the wish for rebirth, change or transformation from what is rigid and fixed to that which is fluid and alterable. Most important, with his feet off the ground, Christophe is elevated in his element, unrestrained, and free from anything that will weigh him down. He is like a torpedo on target, but self-directed.
