The 38th Annual Miracle on Madison Avenue took place on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Madison Avenue between East 57th and East 86th Streets, and adjoining side streets.
For every purchase made in over 75 participating stores, 20% of sales (up to $15,000 per store) benefited The Society of MSK’s initiatives at MSK Kids, the pediatric program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK).

To make shopping easier and fun, stores displayed their selections of “miracle” gifts and welcomed customers with Madison Avenue hospitality, treats and special programming.
Shoppers who were unable to shop in person, but wanted to make a purchase at one of the participating stores in support of The Society of MSK, were invited to call or email that retailer’s Miracle Personal Shopper listed on the Madison Avenue B.I.D. website. A heartwarming experience every year, shoppers were greeted with strolling holiday carolers, the beloved MSK Caring Canines Therapy Dog Team, “Warm-up Cups” at hot beverage stations in front of select stores, and a public art holiday exhibition created by The School of Visual Arts (SVA).

The Society of MSK had been the beneficiary of the event for 13 consecutive years. Organized by the Madison Avenue B.I.D., Miracle on Madison Avenue has become a favorite New York holiday tradition that uniquely combines philanthropy for children-in-need with in-store programming and on-the-street activities.
The Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center — founded in 1946 to raise funds for patient care–is a volunteer organization dedicated to promoting the well-being of patients, supporting cancer research, and providing public education on the prevention, early detection and treatment of cancer.
Society volunteers work in close collaboration with the physicians and staff of MSK to support the Center’s mission of delivering the best cancer care to its patients while at the same time, providing comfort and caring to our patients and their families who come to the Center for treatment from all over the world.
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is a world leader in patient care, research, and education. With expertise in over 400 cancer types and almost 2,000 clinical trials underway at a given time, MSK makes a massive difference in the lives of millions of people facing cancer around the world.

In 1996, the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District (BID) was formed through a partnership of property owners, merchants, residents and elected officials, who joined together with the fundamental goal of enhancing the quality of life for the community and its visitors.
The BID is managed by the 60-86 Madison Avenue District Management Association, a not-for-profit corporation under contract with the City of New York to supplement services to the community. The DMA is supported by revenue generated from assessments to local property owners, and focuses on security, sanitation, promotion of and advocacy for the district.
