On Wednesday, September 12, Marie Unanue launched her children’s book, “The Adventures of Phatty and Payaso: Central Park” and accompanying #LetsAllBeKind campaign in partnership with Same Sky, a foundation founded by Francine LeFrak dedicated to helping women in the US and Rwanda through trade initiative.
The philanthropic event centered on a conversation between Marie Unanue and Brian Williams of NBC discussing why helping kids learn more kindness is so crucial to impacting our world. Much like Same Sky puts forth that all women should have the chance to thrive, Unanue hopes to help children learn that their future successes hinge on their abilities to treat kindly their peers. The #LetsAllBeKind campaign invites families to use social media for a positive purpose, instead of bullying.
The sales from the book were all donated to Same Sky to aid in their mission to impact women and families the world over.
Marie Unanue is a “Kindness Advocate” helping to create events where important role models can connect with students to show them the importance of living out kindness daily. She recently worked with Justin Tuck (former NY Giant NFL player) to speak to hundreds of families at Notre Dame University on this topic, and will soon be speaking to the Toms River, New Jersey school district as the keynote for an event also featuring Gaten Matarazzo (Stranger Things) and Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi) meant to encourage students to form positive relationships.
