The American Friends of the Oxford Philharmonic welcomed leading members of the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra to two special Salon Concerts in advance of their US debut gala concert to be held at Carnegie Hall on June 7, 2022.
In Washington DC, Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the United States of America, Dame Karen Pierce, hosted a short piano recital given by Orchestra Founder Dr. Marios Papadopoulos and Board Member Dr. Russell Hirshfield.
The following evening in New York, Mrs. Faanya Rose hosted a musical soirée at the Explorers Club, featuring an ensemble of seven outstanding young violinists from the Juilliard School’s Pre-College in a performance of Sarasate’s Navarra and a piano recital with Marios Papadopoulos and Russell Hirshfield. The evening ended with operatic excerpts featuring soloists from the New York City Opera led by soprano Kristin Sampson.
