What to Wear to The Society Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Winter Luncheon

What could be better than a scrumptious luncheon in the Rainbow Room perched high above the streets of the New YorkCity. While the weather may be bleak, The Society Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Winter Luncheon guarantees a bright and bountiful respite.

September 14, 1934 was the official opening of The Rainbow Room, then known as the “Stratosphere” designed to be the top of the Rock for la crème de la crème.  Although it has been through quite a few iterations and transformations, it continues to shine brightly.

In a similar way, The Society, founded in 1945, continues its mission. In the seven decades since its inception, the Society of MSK has raised over $100 million for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer at MSK while becoming a full-time partner of the hospital in its mission to defeat cancer.

The Society is internationally recognized for their involvement in both policy and fundraising, and continues to further hospital programs and education through their philanthropy. Events like the Winter Lunch not only aid in that legacy but also help build and strengthen this community of committed women.

The chicly attired Chairs have assembled the most fashionable philanthropists in town to support their mission — and bravo to NET A PORTER, who is in their 9th year of sponsorship. Use the code MSK2024 at checkout and 20% of your purchases will be donated when you shop. So please take this opportunity to shop for a new luncheon worthy ensemble.

No need to ask us twice to splurge on a little something to wear, especially in February. Did someone say Valentine’s?! The Destree pants and jacket are just the look to brighten your closet and the pretty knit Gabriela Hearst dress is a statement of classic chic.  Speaking of splurging, Balenciaga’s wild leopard clutch functions as a muff and is an investment in … forever. The Loewe Flamenco, a great size, is available in four sumptuous shades. Top it all off with elegant Celine shades and the Toteme coat, a versatile piece to wear over anything and everything!

We are clearly rubbing off on each other!  I am more of a dress girl, but loved the puffy sleeves. And it comes in many other colors as well. Some of my dress picks are a little higher price point than usual, but with 20% of sales going to MSKCC, I thought why not! And, I had to do a nod to upcoming Valentine’s Day with the fun heart earrings. It is always a chic and on trend group that attends this fun luncheon, and with Net-A-Porter offering same day delivery in NYC, you can be sure to be one of them.

This year’s Winter Luncheon will launch The Society’s latest pediatric fundraising initiative, The MSK Kids Wellness Initiative, dedicated to mental wellness.  It targets emotional distress, developing resilience and coping skills, and championing mental wellness as patients and families move through treatment and into survivorship.

Please be generous.
